News and Concerns of Our Fellowship

MHUMC Players Solve Another Murder
The Milford Hills United Methodist Players have staged, investigated, and solved yet another murder, all in two evenings in the church fellowship hall.  "Suspect Hollywood" involved the murder of an infamous producer during casting auditions for a new movie.  As is the custom, audience members combined their brain power to determine the murderer, who was revealed at the conclusion of the mystery. Visit the Photo Album for "Suspect Hollywood" for a few candid photos of the performance which raised over nine hundred dollars for the church building fund.

United Methodist Women
Our spring banquet was a huge success! We all had a real good time singing and praising with Gloria and Chris Hughes. Thank you to all you blessed UMW who helped with the preparations for the banquet. We would like to give a special thank you to the UMM for a wonderful meal that was enjoyed by all.

Our School of Christian Mission will be held July 16-19, 2009, at Greensboro College.  Our theme this year is Together at the Table. The School of Christian Mission is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about mission, participate in meaningful Bible study, and fellowship with other United Methodist Women. In a United Methodist News Service commentary...one minister described Schools of Christian Mission as some of best lay faith education being offered anywhere in the church.

You can attend as a resident student, a nonresident day student, or attend one of the one-day overview classes (Friday or Saturday). The deadline for registration is June 22, 2009. The 2009 Registration Brochure is available on our website at: www.wnccumw.org (Just click on the menu link at the left for "School of Christian Mission") If you don't have a computer and would like a registration brochure, see Mary Kay Zigmont.

"Trulywed Game" Very Revealing
In a special event that closely resembled "The Newlywed Game" of TV gameshows past, the youth of Milford Hills United Methodist Church presented "The Trulywed Game" April 26, 2009 in the church fellowship hall.  Church couples attempted to match answers about their marriage and relationship in general.  When all was said and done, David and Kim Hockett scored the most points during the evening event and won "a special prize chosen just for them".  View pictures of the special youth event.
